Privacy Policy

This page explains what information Hyper Red collects when you use this site, why, and what your options are. This is a plain-language summary written for a small community racing-events site, not a substitute for legal advice — see the note at the bottom of this page.
What we collect
- Sign-up details you submit — your in-game name (IGN), which car class, race day, and time slot you picked, plus your Discord username and optional Steam friend code. Your IGN, class, day, and time are stored as public roster data. Your Discord and Steam code are stored separately as private contact data, visible only to you and Hyper Red admins — see "Who can see it" below.
- A device/session identifier — every visitor is automatically signed in anonymously (via Firebase Authentication) so we can tell "your" entries apart from everyone else's and enforce the per-person weekly entry cap. This identifier is not tied to your name or email unless you separately create an admin account.
- Basic usage analytics — if you accept the cookie banner, Google Analytics collects standard traffic data (pages viewed, approximate location by IP, device/browser type). If you decline, this is not loaded.
- Anti-abuse signals — Google reCAPTCHA (via Firebase App Check) runs in the background to confirm sign-ups are coming from a real browser, not a bot or script. This is required for the site to function and cannot be opted out of separately from not using the site.
What we don't collect
We don't ask for your real name, email address, payment information, or physical address anywhere on this site. We don't sell or share your sign-up data with anyone outside the people who run Hyper Red.
Who can see it
The weekly roster (IGN, class, day, time) is public by design — that's the point of the sign-up sheet, so other drivers and admins can see who's racing. Anyone visiting the Roster tab can see it.
Your Discord username and Steam friend code are not public. They're stored separately from the public roster entry and are only readable by you (on your own entry, behind a "Show contact" reveal on the Roster tab) or by a signed-in Hyper Red admin — never by other visitors browsing the roster. Admin-only data (the allowlist of admin accounts) is also not publicly readable.
How long we keep it
Entries are tied to a specific race week. Older entries remain in the database for historical/roster purposes unless an admin removes them. You can ask an admin to delete your entry or driver data at any time — see contact details below.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies/local-storage values. Local storage is used to remember your cookie-consent choice, display preferences, and your most recently entered IGN, Discord username, and optional Steam friend code so the sign-up form can be filled in on your next visit. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may also set cookies. reCAPTCHA/App Check may set cookies required for the anti-bot check to function. You can clear these values at any time through your browser settings or by using the clear-details control shown with remembered sign-up information.
Your choices
- You can decline analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, or change your choice later by clearing your browser's site data for this domain.
- You can ask an admin to remove your sign-up entry or driver data from the roster at any time.
- You can stop using the site at any time — nothing here requires an account beyond the automatic anonymous sign-in.
This policy is a good-faith description of what this site actually does, written by the people running it — it is not legal advice. If Hyper Red operates in a region with specific requirements (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), have a lawyer review this before relying on it.
